THE “INTRODUCTIONS” SERIES REPRESENTS OPENING SEQUENCES OF VARIOUS ICONIC ANIME. THESE PAINTINGS FEATURE, COLLAGE-LIKE FEATURES, VIBRANT HARMONIC COLORS, AND EXPRESSIVE ENERGY.

“We Are” is the fourth installment in my “Introductions” painting series. Some fun features to find in this piece are: the reflection of defeated pirates in Zora’s sword, Luffy sucker-punching a sea king, and the manga cover inspired “One Piece” title at the bottom. I manipulated the watercolors in a way that emulates a marker drawing you might find on the cover of a One Piece manga. Stylistically, this piece pays homage to Eiichiro Oda’s manga covers. By combining iconic elements of both the anime intro and the manga art, I hope this piece sparks fond memories of how this epic tale began!
